Mini Movers Toddler Yoga Syllabus

The Deaville Yoga Mini Movers Toddler Yoga Teacher Training is a specialist hybrid programme designed for qualified yoga teachers and early years practitioners, who wish to bring the joy of yoga to young children. The course combines in-person practical training with online learning, equipping you with the skills, knowledge, and resources to teach toddler and pre-school yoga with confidence and creativity.

Practical Teaching Techniques (Postures, Breathwork & more)

Participants take part in 4 practical classes across the course, exploring key yoga poses and age-appropriate adaptations for pre-school children.

You will learn how to bring poses to life through storytelling and imagination, and have the opportunity to practice teaching in a warm, supportive environment.

Creative Teaching Techniques: Bringing Stories to Life

This module focuses on the art of engaging young children through narrative. You will discover how to tell a captivating story using voice, movement, and expression, and how to weave yoga naturally into themed, imaginative class experiences that children remember and love.

Sensory & Creative Integration

Young children learn through their senses, and this module shows you how to harness that. You will explore how to incorporate breathwork suitable for young children, singing and sound, musical instruments, dance and movement games, and a range of sensory engagement techniques to create rich, multi-layered classes.

Craft in Your Sessions

Simple craft activities can deepen a child's connection to your class theme and extend the learning experience. This module covers when and how to include craft meaningfully, how to link it to your session theme, and practical strategies for managing time and transitions smoothly.

Structuring a Mini Movers Class

You will learn how to design age-appropriate classes with the right pacing and timing for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Topics include warm-up, peak, calm-down, and relaxation sequences, as well as strategies for managing energy levels, attention spans, and behaviour through positive, engaging teaching.

Ready-to-Use Class Plans

Eight complete, fully structured class plans are provided as part of the course, each themed and ready for immediate use with your students, giving you a solid foundation to begin teaching with confidence from day one. We will explore 4 of these in greater depth and “walk through” the remaining 4.

Anatomy, Physiology & Early Years Child Development

This module provides an essential foundation for teaching yoga safely and effectively to young children. You will explore the key principles of child anatomy (1-5yrs) and physiology relevant to movement and yoga practice, including how the developing body differs from that of an adult and what this means for the poses and activities you offer.

You will also study early years child development, covering physical, cognitive, emotional, and social developmental stages from one to five, giving you the insight to design classes that are truly age-appropriate and developmentally informed.

Professional Practice: Setting Up & Running Your Classes

This module covers the practical essentials of establishing your teaching practice: selecting appropriate equipment and props, creating a safe and welcoming environment, and carrying out risk assessments with safeguarding awareness.

You will also explore the specifics of teaching in nursery settings, including how to work effectively with nursery staff, understanding links to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and managing group dynamics in educational environments.

Marketing Your Classes

Learn how to build a sustainable student base by identifying your ideal clients, developing your brand and positioning, and using social media and local outreach strategies to grow your classes with authenticity and confidence.

Accreditation & Insurance

This module provides a clear overview of your professional responsibilities as a qualified Toddler Yoga Teacher, including understanding your certification, the insurance requirements for teaching young children, and the standards expected of you as a professional practitioner.

Coursework & Assessment

To complete the course, you will create 2 original class plans and submit these as part of your coursework. You will receive structured, developmental feedback on each.

You will also complete a live assessment, delivering 5-10 minutes of one of your class plans in a supportive environment, followed by guided feedback and development discussion.
